Day 03c Lhasa - Chakpori Hill

At the south foot of Chakpori Hill is an entire cliff face depicting religious figures, which have been carved in bas-relief and painted in bright colors. Some carvings date back over a thousand years, wiht countless additions over the centuries. The largest carving is the Blue Buddha, shown seated in a meditation pose. In this area, pilgrims pay their respects, and off to the side, carvers chip text into mani stones.
